There is a lot going on — but each room picks one colour to lead, more or less, and woven with light tones it all settles into a good mood.

Pattern-rich rooms work when they follow a rule: one colour leads, everything else supports. Warm plaster walls and pale tones give patterned textiles room to breathe, so a floral cloth, a striped cushion and a botanical print read as harmony rather than noise.

Repeat a shape or a shade across the room — a tile echoed in a cushion, a green picked up in a print — and the eye relaxes. Lived-in is not the same as cluttered; it is pattern with a plan.
